1. Apple Cider Vinegar

This is mildly acidic, which is useful in preventing the toenail fungus from spreading across. It also kills the fungi and bacteria. To make this at home, take an equal proportion of water and apple cider vinegar and mix them. Put your toenail inside this solution for half an hour every day. After 30 minutes, dry the toenail with a dry cloth. Repeat this practice for a few weeks and you would be able to see an improvement in your toenail.

You can also make exfoliating scrub with it by mixing it with rice flour. When you apply the paste on the affected nail and scrub it, you would feel the difference. You might have to repeat it a few times in a week, and it will help in getting rid of the dead skin cells so that your skin becomes soft.


2. Tea Tree Oil

The tea tree oil has antifungal and antiseptic properties, which can help in treating the mild toe fungus. The oil is also effective in treating other skin infections. To use this oil, mix a few drops of it with one teaspoon of coconut or olive oil. With the help of a cotton ball, apply this solution on the toenail and leave it for about 10 minutes. With the help of a toothbrush, scrub it gently over the nail. By doing it two to three times in a day, you would be able to see a difference.


3. Garlic

Garlic is a fantastic herb, which has antifungal properties and can be quite effective for toenail fungus. To use garlic, squeeze out oil from the garlic by frying it in olive oil and mix it with the equal portion of vinegar. Apply this oil on the toenail and cover it with a bandage. Leave the bandage on for few hours. Repeat this every day till the infection gets cleared. Garlic cloves can also be eaten on a daily basis as a remedial measure.


4. Lemon Juice

Lemon juice has citric acid in them, which is both antifungal and antiseptic. For the toenail fungus treatment, apply it directly on the toenail and let it remain there for half an hour. Rinse it with warm water. You could also mix it with olive oil and then massage it over the infected portion. Olive oil can help in softening the skin and the lemon juice can control the infection.


5. Baking Soda

One can easily find Baking soda in every kitchen. It is quite useful in curing the toenail fungus and can also help in removing the foot odour. For using this, you could mix a half cup of soda with ¼ cup of 3% hydrogen peroxide, along with half cup of Epsom salt. Mix it thoroughly using four cups of warm water. Finally, add 1/4th cup of vinegar to it. Immerse your toenail inside this solution for around 10 minutes and then clean it off with water and dry your foot. Repeating this process twice every day for a few weeks will give you relief.


6. Orange Oil

Orange oil is also quite useful in toenail fungus cure. The oil can have some side effects, so you will have to test it out on your skin before using it as a remedy. With the help of a dropper, apply the orange oil between the toes and under the toenails. Let it remain there for around 30 minutes. Repeat this two to three times every day till you find an improvement.


7. White Vinegar

White vinegar is the most effective ingredients when it comes to nail fungus treatment. It not only fights with infections but also helps in restoring the pH of the skin. Mix a portion of vinegar with two portions of warm water. Immerse the toenail into this solution for about 10 minutes. Clean it with water and dry it with a cloth. Repeat this process everyday till the fungus is completely gone. If you feel irritation on your skin, add some more water and apply it on alternate days rather than daily.


8. Lavender Oil

Lavender is always known for its medicinal and therapeutic properties. The oil from lavender can fight infection and prevent irritations on the skin. Take 5 drops of tea tree oil and lavender oil and mix them. Using the cotton ball, apply the mixture on the toenail. Leave it for 10 minutes and then rinse them off. Repeat this for about two to three times in a day.


9. Oregano oil

Oregano oil is so powerful that it has great anti-bacterial, antiseptic, anti-parasitic, analgesic, antiviral and anti-fungal properties. Due to this, it is the most effective treatment for fungus on toenails. Take a teaspoon of olive oil and mix around two drops of oregano oil. Apply it on the toenail and leave it for around half an hour. After that, wash them off and pat them dry. Repeat this exercise twice every day for around three weeks.


10. Coconut Oil

Coconut oil contains caprylic acid, which can penetrate through the durable cell walls of fungi.
When the coconut oil is applied on the infected portions and left for fifteen minutes, it can remove the protective coating of fungus, which can effectively help in destroying the infection.
