When it comes to iced tea, I am extremely picky. I try not to be, I really do. The thing is though, I grew up in the south where tea is just as sweet as the sunshine is strong. So when we go out to eat and the words, “We don’t have sweet tea, would sweet-n-low do?” are uttered I can’t help but cringe.
This recipe though? It’s one of my favorites, and it’s not loaded with sugar. If you aren’t a mint person this recipe is also very easy to modify. You can skip the mint altogether or try another herb like Basil.
I absolutely love it!
- 6 cups water
- 2 tea bags
- 3 nectarines
- 1/2 cup Stevia
- 1 bunch mint leaves
- 4 cups ice
- In a large kettle, bring 6 cups of water and mint to a boil. Remove heat and steep 2 tea bags. Let the tea cool to room temperature.
- Rinse and cut nectarines.
- Once the tea has cooled, add tea, Stevia, nectarines and additional mint to a large pitcher. Store in the refrigerator.
