Solar array on Washington art museum helps it achieve LEED gold rating

Bainbridge Island Museum of Art near Seattle has earned the vaunted LEED Gold environmental certification, making it the first new art museum in Washington state to achieve the Gold rating.

This certification was made possible because of their installation of solar arrays. Museums are energy-intensive, and solar arrays do a lot to mitigate this cost. The goal of the museum is to be completely sustainable, and they started this commitment by creating 14 bores below ground reduce the energy to heat and cool the building.

They also have low-flow water fixtures, as well as they used recycled materials to make aspects of the museum.

We'd love to see museums in Texas follow their lead, and we'd love to be the ones to install the panels. If you're ready to go solar in #Texas or #Oklahoma, contact us today! http://gplnk.us/2gWdvSp
